It was like the kind you see in the movies. Nervous about getting stuck next to a mean smelly person, God put me next to the sweetest young TEACHER you've ever met. She was a "Year 3" teacher from Toronto, but teaching in Melbourne for 2 years now. So sweet and gave me lots of good tips. It was so nice to have a little travel buddy for the plane. Just on the other side of her was a hipster band guy, didn't really have any conversation with him other than small talk, but when we got to the airport in Australia, several girls came up and took pics of the band guys... I wonder who they are!!! Could be someone famous. No, we're going to go with the story, "I sat next to a famous band on my flight to Sydney!" Once I connected in Brisbane a little girl sat next to me from South Africa (seeing her grandparents), she was only 11 and flying by herself!! I thought, if SHE can do this, you know I can! :)
Here's a pic of just the back section of the plane... there were two other sections just like this one, it was huge! I loooooved having our very own little tv screen! There were tons of movies and shows to choose from. I caught up on Season 3 Downton Abbey... I knew Andrew wouldn't be sad if he missed out on that one...
When I got to the customs counter, the lady behind the counter gave me a weird look as she scanned my passport and told me I have to be "re-scanned" dun dun dun. I had to go to a separate counter, I felt like I was in trouble for smuggling drugs or something! Apparently my passport is printed wrong and the numbers that they scan are off center. Hmmm, why I haven't heard this before from any of the other countries I've been to, I'm not sure! All was good, it just made me nervous for no reason! A young man that was on my flight stopped to see if I needed anything, and then asked if I wanted to split a cab with him because we were going to the same area. I've seen Taken one too many times to fall for that one!!! My dad's pretty touch, but he's no Liam Neeson. Don't worry mom, I told him sorry, I already had transportation! I found my bags, and jumped on to the airport shuttle to my hotel. Met some boys from New Zealand who were in town for the big rugby match tomorrow night. Apparently the city goes crazy. Tomorrow should be an interesting day!

I am so excited you made it safe and sound! Please keep up the posts! Ben and I read this together tonight and loved every minute of it! Have fun in Sydney!! Love, love, love you!!!
